Desire not a multitude of unprofitable children, neither delight in ungodly sons. Rejoice not in many children, if there be not the fear of the Lord among them; neither be consoled by their multitude, if they be not merciful, but proud in their sins, a generation of perdition. Likewise were the six hundred thousand footmen, whose hearts were hardened; but had there been one stiff-necked, it would have been a marvel if he had been pardoned. As He is plenteous in mercy, so is He mighty in punishment; He judgeth a man according to his works. For to every mercy He appointeth a place, and every man receiveth according to his deserts.

Trust not in their life, and give not heed unto their place. Adorn his works forever, and his principles unto ages of ages; so shall he not hunger, neither be weary, neither cease to work.

One child that feareth the Lord is better than a thousand ungodly; and the souls of those that live shall cover their faces, and shall return unto it.

And death without children is better than ungodly children.

For by one wise man shall a city be peopled, but a tribe of the wicked shall be made desolate.

Many such things have mine eyes seen; and greater things than these have mine ears heard.

In the congregation of sinners shall a fire be kindled, and in a rebellious nation wrath shall burn.

He spared not the old giants, who rebelled in their strength.

Neither pitied He the generation of Lot, whom He abhorred for their pride.

For with Him is mercy and wrath; He is mighty to forgive and to pour out wrath.

The sinner shall not escape with his spoils, neither shall the Lord lose the patience of the righteous.

Say not, I will hide myself from the Lord; doth any of the Most High remember me?

I am among a great people; I am not remembered. What is my soul accounted in an uncontainable creation?

Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens, and the deep, and the earth, shall be shaken at His visitation.

And the mountains and the foundations of the earth tremble with terror when He looketh upon them.

And in this shall not the heart meditate.

And there is none that understandeth His ways. A Lord of a tempest, that man beholdeth not.

For most of the works of the Lord are in secret. Who can declare the works of justice? or who can endure them? The covenant is far off, and the scrutiny of all things shall be at the end.

The humble in heart meditateth upon this; but the foolish and erring man meditateth upon folly.

Hearken unto me, O my son, and learn knowledge, and incline thine heart to my words.

I will utter discipline in weight, and will declare knowledge with precision.

All the works of the Lord from the beginning He hath appointed with wisdom, and from their creation He hath distinguished their parts.

And one did not straiten another.

And they do not disobey His word throughout all ages.

And after this, the Lord looked upon the earth, and filled it with His good things.
