And when they had finished supper, they brought the young man in unto her.

And Tobias remembered the words of the angel, and took a part of the liver out of his bag, and laid it on the burning coals. And he commanded to kill two fat oxen and four rams, and that a feast be prepared for all his neighbours and friends.

Then the angel Raphael took the devil and bound him in the deserts of upper Egypt.

And Tobias exhorted the virgin, saying, “Sarah, arise, let us pray to God today, and tomorrow, and the day after; for we shall join ourselves to God these three nights. And when the third night is past, we shall be in our marriage.”

For we are children of saints, and ought not to be joined together like the Gentiles who know not God.

So they both arose, and prayed earnestly that they might be saved.

And Tobias said, “O Lord God of our fathers, blessed be the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the fountains, and the rivers, and allThy creatures that are therein.”

Thou didst make Adam of the dust of the earth, and gavest him Eve for an helper.

And now, O Lord, Thou knowest that I take not my sister to wife for carnal lust, but only for the desire of offspring, wherein Thy name may be blessed for ever and ever.

Sarah also said, “Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us, that we may both grow old together in health.”

And about the time of the cock crowing, Raguel commanded his servants to be gathered unto him, and they went with him and digged a grave.

For he said, “I fear lest it happen to him as to the other seven men who went in unto her.”

And when they had prepared the grave, Raguel returned to his wife, and said unto her,

“Send one of thine handmaids to see if he be dead, that I may bury him before the morning light.”

So she sent one of her handmaids, and she entered into the chamber, and behold, they were both safe and sound, and sleeping together.

And she returned and told them the good tidings. And Raguel and Anna his wife blessed the Lord,

saying, “We bless Thee, O Lord God of Israel, that it hath not happened unto us as we expected.”

“For Thou hast sent us Thy mercy, and hast withheld from us the enemy that persecuted us.”

“And Thou hast had mercy on the only ones. Let them both, O Lord, bless Thee with all blessing, and offer unto Thee a sacrifice of Thy praise and their health, until all the nations know that Thou art the one God in all the earth.”

And immediately Raguel commanded his servants to fill up the grave which they had digged before the morning light.

Then he charged his wife to prepare a feast, and to make ready whatsoever was needful for the travelers for their journey.

And Raguel besought Tobias that he would tarry with him two weeks.

And Raguel gave Tobias half of all his substance, and wrote a writing unto Tobias for the other half, that he should take possession of it after their death.
