And Tobit finished his words. And Tobit lived after he had regained his sight forty-two years, and saw the children of his grandchildren.

So his years were one hundred and two, and he was buried with honour in Nineveh.

And when his sight departed, he was fifty-six years old, and he regained his sight when he was sixty years old.

And he spent the rest of his life joyful, and when he reached a good end in piety toward God, he passed away in peace.

And when his death was at hand, he called his son Tobias and his seven young men, and said unto them,

The destruction of Nineveh draweth nigh, for the word of the Lord shall not come to naught; and our brethren which are scattered from the land of Israel shall return unto it.

And all her desolate land shall be filled, and the house of God which was burned therein shall be rebuilt, and all those who fear God shall return thither.

And the nations shall forsake their idols and depart unto Jerusalem, and shall dwell therein.

And all the kings of the earth shall rejoice therein, worshipping the King of Israel.

Hearken, O my children, let me adjure you, serve the Lord in truth, and seek to do His good pleasure.

And command your children to do justice and almsgiving, and that they remember God and bless Him at all times in truth and with all their might.

Hear me, O my children, dwell not here; but on the day when you bury your mother with me in one grave, on that day set forth your steps to depart from this place.

For I see that its iniquity shall destroy it.

And it came to pass that Tobias, after the death of his mother, departed from Nineveh with his wife and his children, and returned unto his father-in-law and mother-in-law.

And he found them in good old age, safe and sound, and he took care of them. And he closed their eyes, and secured all the inheritance of the house of Raguel, and saw his children's children unto the fifth generation.

And after he had lived ninety-nine years in the fear of the Lord, he was buried with joy.

And all his kindred and all his offspring abode in a good life and a holy conduct, and they were pleasing unto God and men, and all the inhabitants of the land.
