And as they returned, and were come to Haran, which is in the midst of the way between Nineveh and Rages, the eleventh day, his father Tobit went forth blind, and running stumbled with his feet; but his servant took him by the hand, and went to meet his son. And receiving him, he kissed him, as did his wife also, and they both wept for joy, and worshipped God, and gave him thanks. Then Tobit took of the gall of the fish, and anointed his father's eyes, and he tarried about half an hour; and there came a scale from his eyes like the skin of an egg; and Tobit took it, and drew it from his eyes; and immediately his father saw, and glorified God, as did his wife, and all that knew him.
And the angel said, Brother Tobias, thou knowest how thou didst leave thy father.
Let us go forward, if thou pleasest, and let the children and thy wife follow softly after with the cattle.
So when they were agreed to go, Raphael said to Tobias, Take with thee of the gall of the fish; for we shall have need of it. So Tobias took the gall, and they departed.
But Anna sat daily by the way upon the top of a mountain, whence she might see afar off.
And when she espied afar off, she knew forthwith that it was her son coming home, and she ran and told her husband saying, Behold, thy son cometh.
And Raphael said to Tobias, As soon as thou shalt come into thine house, worship the Lord thy God, and give thanks unto him, and then approach thy father, and kiss him.
And anoint his eyes with this gall of the fish which thou hast with thee; for know thou, that forthwith his eyes shall be opened, and thy father shall see the light of heaven, and shall rejoice in seeing thee.
Then the dog went before them, and was as a messenger, showing forth his joy by the wagging of his tail.
And Tobit said, I bless thee, O Lord God of Israel, because thou hast chastised me, and healed me: and, behold, I see Tobias my son.
And Sara, his daughter-in-law, arrived after seven days, with all the children in safety, and the sheep, and the camels, and much wealth of the woman, with the money which he had received of Gabael.
And he declared unto his parents all the benefits of God, which he had bestowed upon him by the hand of that man who went with him.
And there came to Tobit Achior and Nebat, his kinsmen, rejoicing and congratulating him for all the good that God had bestowed upon him.
And they kept a feast for seven days, and rejoiced all of them with great joy.
