If they have made thee ruler, be not lifted up, but be among them as one of them: Speak, then, young man, but rarely, when necessity calleth thee, expressing much in few words, and be as one who knoweth and is silent among the great; equalize not thyself with them, and among the elders be not over-talkative; and do what seemeth good to thee, and offend not with words of pride; and over all these, bless thy Maker, who maketh thee drunken with His goodness; he that feareth the Lord receiveth His discipline, and they that seek Him find His favour.
