The children of Wisdom are the company of the righteous, and their offspring are obedient and beloved.

My children, hearken to the words of your father and obey them, that ye may be saved.

For the Lord hath given the father honour over the children, and hath confirmed the authority of the mother over the sons. Water doth quench a flaming fire; and alms doth make atonement for sins. He that doeth good shall be remembered in his latter end, and shall find a support in the day of his downfall.

Whoso honoureth his father, he shall atone for his sins, and shall abstain from them, and his prayer shall be heard every day.

And he that honoureth his mother is as one that layeth up treasure.

Whoso honoureth his father shall have joy in his own children; and in the day of his prayer he shall be heard.

He that honoureth his father shall have a long life; and he that obeyeth his father shall bring comfort to his mother.

He that feareth the Lord will honour his mother, and serve his parents as his masters.

Honour thy father with deed and word, and with all patience.

That a blessing may come upon thee from him, and his blessing may remain unto the end.

For the blessing of the father establisheth the houses of the children, but the curse of the mother rooteth out foundations.

Glory not in the dishonour of thy father, for the dishonour of thy father is no glory unto thee.

But the glory of a man is the honour of his father, and the dishonour of a mother is a disgrace to her children.

My son, support thy father in his old age, and grieve him not in his life.

And if his understanding fail, have patience with him; and despise him not when thou art in thy full strength. For the kindness shown to a father shall not be forgotten.

And by enduring the failings of thy mother, thou shalt be recompensed with good.

And upon thy righteousness shall a house be built for thee, and thou shalt be remembered in the day of thy distress, and as the clear ice in fair weather, so shall thy sins melt away.

He that forsaketh his father is as a blasphemer; and he that angereth his mother is cursed of the Lord.

My son, do thy work with meekness, and the righteous man shall love thee.

The more thou art exalted, the more do thou humble thyself, and thou shalt find favour with the Lord.

For the power of the Lord is great; and by the humble he is glorified.

Seek not that which is too difficult for thee, neither search after that which is beyond thy strength. But what the Lord hath commanded thee, that meditate upon; and desire not to inquire into his many works.

For there is no need for thee to see hidden things with thine eyes.

And that which is beyond thy works, fret not thyself with it.

For thou hast been shown many things which surpass the understanding of man.

And many have been led astray by their presumption, and their minds confused by corrupt thought.

A stubborn heart shall come to evil; and he that loveth danger shall fall therein.

A heart that goeth two ways shall not prosper; and the perverse hearted shall stumble in both.

A stubborn heart shall be burdened with sorrows; and a sinner shall add sin to sin.

There is no cure for the disease of the proud; for the germ of evil hath taken root in him.

The heart of the wise doth ponder a proverb; and the desire of the wise is an attentive ear.

The wise and discerning heart abstaineth from sins, and prospereth in works of righteousness.
