My son, if thou come to serve the Lord God, prepare thy soul for temptation. The Lord is merciful and gracious, and forgiveth sins, and saveth in the day of affliction. Woe to fearful hearts, and to faint hands, and to the sinner that goeth two ways. Woe unto you that have lost patience, and have forsaken the straight paths, and have gone aside to evil ways! And what will ye do when the Lord shall visit you?
Order thy heart, and endure with thine ear, and receive the words of understanding; and make not haste in the time of trouble.
Wait patiently for God, cleave unto Him, and turn not aside, that thou mayest be increased at thy latter end.
Whatsoever is brought upon thee take cheerfully, and be patient when thou art brought low.
For gold is tried in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of adversity.
Believe in Him, and He will help thee: order thy way aright, and trust in Him. Keep His fear, and abide therein in thine old age.
Ye that fear the Lord, wait for His mercy; and go not aside, lest ye fall.
Ye that fear the Lord, believe Him; and your reward shall not fail.
Ye that fear the Lord, hope for good things, and for everlasting joy and mercy.
Ye that fear the Lord, love Him, and your hearts shall be enlightened.
Look at the generations of old, and see; did ever any trust in the Lord, and was confounded? Or did any abide in His fear, and was forsaken? Or whom did He ever despise, that called upon Him?
Woe unto him that is faint-hearted! for it believeth not; therefore it shall not be defended.
They that fear the Lord will not disobey His words; and they that love Him will keep His ways.
They that fear the Lord will seek His good pleasure; and they that love Him shall be filled with the law.
They that fear the Lord will prepare their hearts, and humble their souls before Him.
They that fear the Lord will keep His commandments, and patiently abide His visitation.
Saying, if we repent not, we shall fall into the hands of the Lord, and not into the hands of men.
For as His majesty is, so is His mercy.
