A laborer who is a drunkard shall never be rich: and he that contemneth small things shall fall by little and little.

Wine and women make wise men of old to fall away, and to revolt.

And he that joineth himself to harlots will become more audacious. Moths and worms shall inherit him, and a shameless soul shall be rooted out. He that is hasty to give credit is light-minded, and he that sinneth against himself is a transgressor.

He that taketh pleasure in iniquity shall be defiled: and he that hateth talking, lessens sin.

He that sinneth against himself shall repent: and he that takes pleasure in evil shall be stained.

Neither hear evil counsel, and thou shalt lose nothing.

Neither tell thy secrets to thy friend nor to thy foe, nor uncover what is in thy mind to anyone, even if there be no sin in thee.

For he will hear thee, and then will watch thee, and one day become thine enemy.

If thou hast heard a word, let it die with thee, trust it, it will not burst thee.

A fool travaileth with a word, as a woman in travail with a child.

A word in the heart of a fool is as an arrow stuck in a fleshy thigh.

Admonish thy friend, lest he did it not: and if he did it, that he may do it no more.

Admonish thy friend, lest he said it not: and if he said it, that he may not repeat it.

Admonish thy friend: for calumny is frequent.

And believe not every word: for there is one that slippeth, but not from the heart.

And who is he that hath not offended with his tongue? Admonish thy neighbour before thou threaten him.

And keep a place for the law of the Most High. All wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and in all wisdom is the performance of the law.

Not wisdom is the knowledge of wickedness: and where the counsel of sinners is, there is not prudence.

For there is a wickedness that is abomination: and among fools there are some that lack wisdom.

He that is of little understanding, and fearing God, is better than he that hath much wisdom, and transgresseth the law.

There is a shrewdness that is excellent, but it is unjust.

And there is a man who destroyeth love to show justice. There is a wicked man that goeth bowed down in mourning, but his inwards are full of deceit.

He will stoop with his face, and be deaf with one ear: and where thou shalt not perceive, he will surprise thee.

And if his inability hinder him from doing evil, when he findeth opportunity, he will do it.

By his appearance a man is known, and by a sensible man, the meeting of the face know.

The apparel of the man, and the laughter of the man, and the gait of the man, show what he is.

There is a rebuke that is not seemly: and there is a silent one that is prudent.
