Set not thy heart upon thy goods; and say not, I have enough to suffice for my life.
Follow not thy desires nor thy strength, to walk in the lusts of thy heart.
And say not, Who shall overrule me? for the Lord will surely take vengeance on thee.
Say not, I have sinned, and what harm hath happened unto me? for the Lord is long-suffering.
Be not without fear of forgiven sin, to add iniquity upon iniquity.
And say not, His mercy is great; he will pardon the multitude of my sins.
For with Him is mercy and wrath; and His indignation resteth upon sinners.
Make no tarrying to turn to the Lord, and put not off from day to day.
For suddenly shall the wrath of the Lord come forth, and in the day of vengeance shalt thou be destroyed.
Trust not in goods of iniquity, for they shall not profit thee in the day of vengeance.
Be not tossed about with every wind, and go not into every way; for so doth the sinner with a double tongue.
But be steadfast in thy understanding; and let thy word be one.
Be swift to hear, and be slow to answer.
If thou hast understanding, answer thy neighbour; if not, lay thy hand upon thy mouth.
In speech is honour and dishonour; and the tongue of man is his destruction.
Be not called a talebearer, and lie not with thy tongue.
For unto the thief pertaineth shame; and to the double-tongued, a grievous condemnation.
Be not ignorant in a great matter, nor in a small.
