My heart is filled with joy, and my tongue with exultation; let my soul magnify the Lord, and my spirit rejoice in God my Savior.

I have approached You, O Lord, to clothe me in a pure garment for entry into Your wedding feast.

May my union with You this day be everlasting, for by it I increase in virtue, steadfastness, and growth; my faith is strengthened, and my hope is fortified.

May my communion become a sign of salvation, a raiment of grace, a garment of new birth, purity and holiness for soul and body, cleanness of love, eternal joy and gladness, and a good and acceptable answer before Your awesome tribunal.

And I surrender my being into Your compassion; make me one with You, and guide me according to Your will; call unto Yourself my mind, senses, and will, that You may bless them and that they may be obedient to Your pleasure.

Quicken my heart, and awaken my conscience; scatter all the imaginations of the enemy, and command the storms to be silent.

Walk with me and calm my awe; quench my thirst, and kindle the flame of Your love in my heart; with compassion and gentleness, supply all that I lack; abide with me, for the day is far spent; and accompany me until the day breaks, for You alone are my goal and my happiness. You alone, O Lord, forever. Amen.

Another after Communion

How great is Your goodness, O God, which You have reserved for those who fear You! How sweet is Your grace for those who love You! I thank You, my caring God, Who has granted me this holy, mystical, imperishable food, and thereby opened for us the way to eternal life.

Kindle within me the fire of Your love, and preserve within me the gift of Your grace, not for condemnation, nor for falling into judgment, but for the attainment of glory and the purity of soul and body, that I may live by You, and live for Your sake, and be perfected by Your righteousness.

Guide me, therefore, to Your righteousness, fill me with Your grace, and sanctify me with Your Spirit. To You be glory, with Your good Father and Your Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
